In architecture, a cupola is a relatively small, most often dome-like, structure on top of a building. Originally in the early 17th century it was designed to provide a lookout and later to admit light and air, it usually crowns a larger roof or dome. The cupola is a development made during the Renaissance of the oculus, it is an ancient device found in Roman architecture. Raven Metal produces a variety of custom cupolas for residential and commercial applications. All Raven Metal Custom work is hand-made on Vancouver Island. Touch the photo for a close-up.
